Sneak peek at Audi's new 700 horsepower E-Tron hybrid

 

 

 

In a few weeks, the Frankfurt Motor Show will kick off, unveiling any number of new pieces of eye candy developed by the world's top automakers. But one company, it seems, just couldn't wait. Audi just unveiled the first details for its new Quattro Sport E-Tron, a 700 horsepower hybrid concept car.
The electric engine, which gives the E-Tron its unique moniker serves two separate purposes: to punch the car's twin-turbo V8 up to it's 200 mph top speed, and to provide a zero-emission all-electric option. When operating solely on the electric motor, the E-Tron has an around-town range of 21.7 miles. That's hardly groundbreaking range for an EV, but as sports cars go, it's a step in the right direction.
We'll have to wait a little longer for more info regarding Audi's new hybrid monster. For now, a test drive will have to remain in our imaginations and the images below.
